Lineup #2

J.J. Redick

Jrue Holiday

Brandon Ingram

Josh Hart

Jaxson Hayes

54 minutes played: Offensive Rating 121.8/ Defensive Rating 100.8

The first two lineups should give the New Orleans Pelicans hope that Hayes is capable of handling increased minutes next season if they let Derrick Favors walk in free agency.

This is another lineup that might surprise people, but Hart and Holiday’s defensive versatility allow this lineup to play small without giving up much on defense.

This lineup only played 54 minutes together, which is a small sample size, but is another small-ball lineup that will likely see more run next season, as all of these guys should be back.

This also shows that Redick is better than advertised on defense, as he is part of two of the Pelicans’ better defensive lineups.

This also forecasts Ingram and Holiday as two players who will see extended time together with the second unit, allowing Lonzo Ball and Zion Williamson to get more run with the first and staggering their best players.

Staggering the starters is something Alvin Gentry must do better next season.

The New Orleans Pelicans need to get more out of their bench units, so going small with Holiday and Ingram is something they should explore.
