New Orleans Pelicans: Power Ranking the Yacht Club

The New Orleans Pelicans got stuck in the Yacht Club, but are they the best team there? Do any of these teams have a chance to actually make the playoffs?

When hotel accommodations were announced for the re-start at NBA Disney, the New Orleans Pelicans discovered they were put in the Yacht Club and the jokes starting flying.

While the Grand Destino and Grand Floridian will be reserved for the playoff-bound teams, the Yacht Club is for the fringe, the six teams trying to claw their way into the eighth seed.

I’m sure the Yacht Club is very nice, but fans on NBA Twitter ran with it and now the old Yacht Club is stuffed into every joke about mediocrity and bad teams.

Lose to a Grand Destino or Grand Floridian team, sure, but don’t lose to one of the Yacht Club teams.

The problem is that there actually are some good teams in the Yacht Club group and a couple who have a puncher’s chance of sneaking into the playoffs and maybe even making a little noise.

The six teams at the Yacht Club all have their flaws, but also some All-Stars and All-NBA players who are not going to go down without a fight.

Let’s not forget that one of last year’s Western Conference Finalists will be slumming it at the Yacht Club and they are finally at full strength.

After a lengthy suspension of play, players should be rested and ready to go and some were able to take care of nagging injuries that had kept them out.

But who is the best of the Yacht Club? And could any of these teams overtake Memphis and make the playoffs? Are any of them a threat?
