No matter what happens at NBA Disney, this season is one the New Orleans Pelicans will always remember.
From Zion Williamson‘s injury and return, to the emergence of Brandon Ingram and Lonzo Ball, to the historically bad start and the eventual playoff push, to the deadly pandemic raging across the country, 2020 has not been a typical season of New Orleans basketball.
Even through all the drama, the New Orleans Pelicans still have a chance to make the playoffs, which is obviously their team goal.
A playoff appearance this season would sew the seeds of a consistent contender, the first step in what could eventually become a championship team.
Even if they were to get swept in the first round, the Pelicans youngsters would get their first taste of playoff basketball and what it takes to win in the second season.
Team goals aside, every player is chasing their own individual goals while in the bubble, things they want to accomplish during this season’s second chance.
For some, it is just to make the rotation, or to be a meaningful contributor in practice. A couple of guys are probably auditioning for their next job, trying to show they deserve another payday or a big raise.
We broke the team down by position and chose one goal for each player currently on the New Orleans Pelicans.
Basketball is a team sport, but if the Pelicans want to reach their team goal of making the playoffs, then these individual goals will help get them there.
