Zion Williamson has returned to the New Orleans Pelicans and is ready to go.
There hasn’t been an abundance of good news lately, so the New Orleans Pelicans were happy to announce that Zion Williamson has re-joined his teammates in the bubble.
He will be quarantined immediately, for at least four days, which means he is unlikely to play in the final scrimmage but should be eligible for the first real game against the Utah Jazz.
Here is the team announcement:
Zion Williamson returned to the NBA campus in Orlando this evening, the team announced.

He was tested daily for COVID-19 while away from the team and produced negative results for all of them. Williamson is required to quarantine immediately, per NBA protocol. pic.twitter.com/5Olbwo1YvV
The New Orleans Pelicans franchise, fans and media were behind Zion Williamson.
We’re glad that Zion was able to return and hope that his family matter is sorted.
I’d also like to commend the New Orleans Pelicans as a franchise, as they said and did all the right things during this. They gave Zion Williamson space to deal with his family emergency and respected his privacy throughout.
There were a few clickbait conspiracy articles out there, but the New Orleans media respected Zion’s privacy as well, something I hope he remembers in a few years because that would not have happened in Los Angeles or New York.
Zion Williamson had this to say:
"“My family and I appreciate the love and respect that everyone showed us while we dealt with a private family matter. I‘m excited to rejoin my team in Orlando and look forward to getting back on the court with my teammates after quarantine.”"
The New Orleans Pelicans have already worked Zion Williamson back into the lineup once this season, and after a much longer absence, so it should be a lot easier this time.
The Pelicans played well in their first scrimmage without Zion Williamson, so what will his return mean for the team? Here are a couple of things to look forward to.
