The New Orleans Pelicans have plenty to prove in the final two games.
The playoffs are officially over before they even start for the New Orleans Pelicans. But fear not, fellow Pels’ fans, you still have reasons to watch these final two bubble games.
Development for the younger and bench players is all but certain to be a focus for the coaches, especially with Jrue Holiday, Brandon Ingram and Zion Williamson sitting out at least one and more than likely, both games.
This will give the fans a great opportunity to see an early glimpse of what could be some intriguing lineups during the 2020-2021 season.
The final two games won’t decide fates, but there are some things we should look for.
Can Lonzo Turn it Around Before the Offseason?
Obviously we know the Lonzo Ball – Zion combos are highlight worthy. And here’s hoping those continue for years to come.
Zion is sitting out Tuesday’s game, so it’s more than likely we’ve seen our last one of this season. But looking back, we were treated to some awesome ones.
With Zion out, one thing to look for is if Lonzo can step up and have a big game. We wrote about how he left his swagger outside the bubble and it would be nice to see him get it back somewhat before the offseason.
Lonzo has yet to have a good game in Orlando, and his confidence has clearly been affected. In March he was red-hot and looked like he would lead this team to the playoffs and maybe pick up a max contract in the process.
Now there are more questions than answers, but Lonzo can do a lot to help himself by settling down, playing with confidence and having a couple of good games to end the season.
