New Orleans Pelicans 3rd Reason to Consider Will Hardy

The Impressions Hardy has Already Made

The fact Will Hardy already impressed an NBA in a head coaching interview before might seem like a small factor but it could become a major one for the New Orleans Pelicans if they decide to consider him.

People in league circles talk that’s what it comes down to and if it’s true that the New York Knicks felt like they were blown away then what’s to stop someone in that organization from putting in a call to the Pelicans and saying “hey this kid is really something”. It happens more often than we know in the NBA.

Most of the time when a young coach begins making strong impressions in head coaching interviews, it doesn’t become long until a team decides to offer them one. The New Orleans Pelicans could also get blown away by Will Hardy in an interview, and then what?

If the Pelicans interview him and come away with the same impression as the Knicks they might feel pressured because they won’t want to let such an impressionable young coach out of their grasp for another organization to have.

Overall, I think that Will Hardy is a little premature for what the New Orleans Pelicans are looking to do right now but I do think he could blow them away in an interview. His age simply makes him a little too much of a risk since they are trying to keep their young superstars from fleeing to bigger markets. Don’t be surprised that in the near future Will Hardy lands a marquee coaching job.
