The New Orleans Pelicans can balance the roster and get LaMelo Ball.

If one thing became clear during the bubble, it’s that the New Orleans Pelicans need to balance their roster.

They have too many guards, not enough forwards and not enough size on the interior, which led to them being one of the worst teams in the NBA at stopping points in the paint.

The Pelicans were often pushed around, overmatched and just plain out-muscled by most of the good teams in the Western Conference.

They also need a backup point guard who can run the offense, as well as some depth at power forward and small forward.

With few affordable options on the free agent market, the Pelicans may decide that the best way to fill the holes in their roster is by making a trade.

They have plenty of assets, including a treasure trove of draft picks, a couple of veteran players that could help contenders and a few young guys who have not yet reached their full potential.

The Pelicans’ defense was atrocious in the bubble, something their new coach is going to have to fix if the Pels want to join the elite of the Western Conference.

One way to get bigger, balance the roster and become the epicenter of NBA media is by trading up in the 2020 NBA Draft to grab LaMelo Ball.

We’ve talked extensively about uniting the Ball Brothers, which should have a lot of appeal to New Orleans.

Not only is LaMelo one of the top players in this draft, he fills a need on the roster and would make the Pelicans the talk of the NBA for the next several years.

Some fans are put off by the Balls and their reality-TV life, but there is no doubt that they are talented, will fill arenas and sell merch, especially if they are on the same team.

Here is a crazy trade that could unite the Ball Brothers and balance the roster.
