The New Orleans Pelicans could package #13 in a blockbuster trade.

When it comes to the 2020 NBA Draft, no one is sure what the New Orleans Pelicans will do.

VP David Griffin seemed to be happy with his team’s progress prior to the restart, but a poor showing in the bubble may have changed his mind.

Griffin promptly fired coach Alvin Gentry and has been tight lipped so far about who will replace him.

The Pelicans have also not revealed any of their plans for the draft, which could include just taking a player they like at #13, possibly trading up or down or even packaging that pick in a blockbuster trade.

With so many unknowns in the 2020 Draft, teams could look to trade out of it, and pick up an asset or a pick in a draft that is deeper.

The teams have had little time to scout players, and this uncertainty could cause some of them, including the New Orleans Pelicans, to troll the league for trades.

The most likely Pelicans to be traded are Jrue Holiday, J.J. Redick and Nicolo Melli, whose ages and salaries don’t necessarily match up with the core of Zion Williamson, Brandon Ingram and Lonzo Ball.

The Pelicans are in a great position, as they have plenty of young talent, draft capital and desirable veterans to make a big move.

The question is whether they want to. The Pelicans may want to see this team at full strength before they make any big moves, as they didn’t get to play much together last season and may just need a few small tweaks to get into the playoffs.

If the Pelicans do decide to make a big trade, there are a few out there that make sense.

Here are two somewhat ridiculous trades the Pelicans could make using their assets and the 13th pick.
