Giving New Orleans Pelicans fans our updated look at the team’s head coaching candidates

It’s going on nearly a month since the New Orleans Pelicans dismissed Alvin Gentry from his head coaching duties. Since then, not much information has come out about the search for the franchises next head coach.

That has left us here at Pelican Debrief doing some searching of our own, speculating and investigating every possible head coach that emerges.

Some of the candidates we profiled are coaches we have found to be great fits for the Pelicans organization and roster, while others are coaches that we wouldn’t touch with a mile-long pole.

During our initial first wave of covering this coaching search, we ranked our top 10 head coaching candidates for the New Orleans Pelicans as things stood early in the process. If you want to get a look at what we thought then, check it out.

Since then though, our tastes have changed. With other prominent coaching jobs opening in Brooklyn, Chicago, Indiana, and Philadelphia there are some coaches we discussed before who might make sense for those organizations more.

For some of the candidates, we might have soured just a bit on them from where we had them ranked prior due to having more information available and having some new candidates join our rankings.

With that being said, here’s a look at our updated rankings for candidates to be the next head coach of the New Orleans Pelicans!
