New Orleans Pelicans: A trade with the Detroit Pistons for the #7 NBA Draft Pick

The Detroit Pistons are one of the worst teams in the NBA and have few players outside of Derrick Rose that anyone would want.

If they make a trade, it will almost certainly be to move down in the draft, especially if there isn’t a point guard they like available at #7.

The Pistons would probably be open to trading this pick if they can pick up another pick or a young project to add to their bare cupboards.

In this trade the Pistons get a young player in Nickeil Alexander-Walker who more fits the timeline of Sekou Doumbouya and Luke Kennard. They still get a lottery pick and would still have a ton of cap space.

The Pelicans get the seventh pick along with combo guard Bruce Brown, who is very good defensively and has one of the best value contracts in the NBA. The Pelicans would improve their defense and get the seventh pick without giving up much.
