Be the GM: New Orleans Pelicans trade with New York Knicks for #8 pick in the NBA Draft

Trading for the #8 pick

Congrats! You have just fleeced the Knicks out of their pick without giving them anything of value in return. You’re one of many in a long line to put one over on the Knicks.

If the Pelicans can move up in the draft to get a guy they like without giving up anything from their core, then it is a no-brainer.

The truth is that there aren’t many realistic trades with the Knicks, as they don’t have anything the Pelicans want that they’d be willing to part with. It would probably take more, but since this is all hypothetical anyway, let’s roll with it.

You now have a chance to add impact talent to your core without giving up any of your key players or taking on a lot of money, well done.

You can run it back with most of the team from last year, plus the #8 pick in the NBA Draft.
