Be the GM: New Orleans Pelicans trade with Washington Wizards in NBA Draft

Trading for the #9 pick

Congrats! You have just moved up four spots in the draft and it only took giving up NAW and the 13th pick to do it.

You make this move if you are not high on NAW’s future in New Orleans and you think you can get someone at #9 who makes more sense on this roster.

This is probably a move the Pels would make if they thought they could get a quality wing or big man with this pick, which is very possible.

If you worked this right, you can potentially replace NAW with someone who is a better fit on this roster and makes more sense with the second unit.

The Pelicans need depth at both forward positions and need to get more talented on the wing. This trade allows them to use their surplus of shooting guards to do it.
