New Orleans Pelicans: Hypothetical trade of Jrue Holiday to Milwaukee Bucks

Why the Bucks would do it

The Bucks were a paper tiger this year, a team that ran over weaker competition, ran up scores and pretty much had no challenges.

That all changed in the playoffs when coaching is better, teams are smarter and just handing it to Giannis was no longer a viable game plan.

The Heat were ready and had a solid strategy to slow Milwaukee’s offense and it worked. It became clear that Middleton may not be good enough to be the second-best player on a title team and that the Bucks need more depth.

Adding Jrue Holiday would be a no-brainer for the Bucks if they could get it done, especially without giving up anyone they really care about. The Bucks would be ecstatic if they could get out from Eric Bledsoe’s bloated contract, Ilyasova is just depth and rarely played in the playoffs and DiVincenzo is a second-year player who is unproven.

On top of that, they only have to give up the 24th pick in a weak draft with a ton of unknowns. To say this deal is a slam dunk for the Bucks is an understatement. They get the best player, give up virtually nothing and get out from under their worst contract.

I’m pretty sure the Bucks would break their legs running towards this deal, as it would make them better without giving anything up. How about the Pelicans?
