There might be a fit between free agent Meyers Leonard and the New Orleans Pelicans.

The New Orleans Pelicans are not going to have much to spend in free agency this offseason after they eventually extend Brandon Ingram with a max deal.

They have several holes to fill, including another center, some depth on the wing and possibly a backup point guard.

They can fill some of these needs in the NBA Draft but will have to look to free agency and trades to balance their roster and get some quality depth.

One free agent the Pelicans will certainly discuss is center/power forward Meyers Leonard from the Miami Heat.

You may have noticed him, as he looks like Justin Bieber on steroids doing a war cry from the Heat bench every time there is a dunk.

Cheerleading and Justin Bieber impersonating aside, Leonard offers some intriguing skills that could benefit the New Orleans Pelicans.

He’s never quite put all of his talent together, and if you look at his numbers, you’d have to ask how in the world he makes so much money.

But don’t let his current salary fool you, Leonard was a beneficiary of the spike in the salary cap and is unlikely to ever sniff $14 million a year again, so he could be right in the Pelicans’ price range.

Leonard is not going to be the final piece to the Pelicans’ puzzle, but he does fit well with their current roster and could be a valuable addition in New Orleans.

The 7-foot Hulk Bieber hasn’t played a lot in the playoffs, but that doesn’t mean he couldn’t help the New Orleans Pelicans next season.

Here’s how.
