New Orleans Pelicans: Potential trades with the Miami Heat

This is a trade in which Miami deals from its depth to get a better player.

Kelly Olynyk would have to pick up his player option, which he is almost certain to do, before this trade could happen.

The Pelicans would get a stretch-four to put next to Zion Williamson. Olynyk is not a great rim protector or defender but he would make the Pelicans dynamic offensively, especially in the pick-and-roll.

They also get up and comer Duncan Robinson, who played well in the playoffs, can knock down 3-point shots and proved he can be part of a championship rotation. They also get the Heat’s 20th pick in the 2020 draft, which isn’t very valuable but could still net an impact player.

The Heat get the best player in the deal, a guy in Holiday who fits with what they do on both ends of the floor. Neither Olynyk or Robinson played huge minutes in the playoffs, so the Heat would essentially be getting a quarter for two dimes and a nickel.

This deal would also clear a lot of cap space for the Pelicans in the future, improve their depth and fill some of their needs.
