There is one piece that the New Orleans Pelicans roster is missing, and that’s a big man.

While Derrick Favors was a helpful asset to the Pelicans last season, he is a free agent this offseason and unlikely to return unless it’s on a minimum deal.

Favors played his role to the best of his ability, but I think it’s time to move on from him as a starting center and look for a more reliable option.

Jaxson Hayes is looking to have some serious potential moving forward.  I have seen some comparisons to a young Tyson Chandler. Jaxson Hayes is nearly 7 feet tall and has unparalleled athleticism, which is something you can’t teach.

But, Hayes is still only 20 years old and needs to continue developing his game before he’s ready to start and play big minutes for the Pelicans. He needs to get better defensively, especially when it comes to positioning and also needs to add some range to his offensive game.

With the 2020 season coming to a close, the New Orleans Pelicans have some very important decisions to make.

One of the most important is filling out the roster. Free Agency is currently scheduled to begin on November 18 and signing a center will be a top priority. These two high-profile centers can upgrade the New Orleans Pelicans’ current options.
