The NBA Finals revealed two ways for the New Orleans Pelicans to win a title.

The New Orleans Pelicans season didn’t end the way they wanted it to but realistically they were at least a year ahead of schedule.

It would have been nice for the Pels to take that first step and make the playoffs but there is still plenty they could have learned as a franchise by watching them.

The NBA Finals featured two very good teams that took very different paths to get there and both paths could be followed by the New Orleans Pelicans.

The Pels already have a load of young talent, two potential superstars to build around in Zion Williamson and Brandon Ingram and a slew of draft assets to play with, so in many ways, they are in a lot better shape than either Los Angles or Miami were heading into last season.

The Lakers were able to add superstar Anthony Davis via trade and the Heat grabbed Jimmy Butler, and had those two things not happened, neither team would have been near the NBA Finals.

But while it was the addition of two superstars that catapulted them into contention, both teams built their rosters in very different ways.

Bot the Los Angeles Lakers and Miami Heat proved that there is more than one way to build a team and any of these strategies could end in a championship.

Here are two different ways the Pelicans can follow in their footsteps and make it to the NBA Finals as soon as next season.
