The New Orleans Pelicans will have many trade options for Jrue Holiday. Here are two to avoid.
The New Orleans Pelicans have been involved in a ton of trade rumors this short offseason, most of them revolving around guard Jrue Holiday.
This was finally confirmed by Shams Charania, who reported that the Pelicans are actively shopping Holiday and taking offers:
The New Orleans Pelicans are openly discussing star Jrue Holiday in trade talks and several contending teams are pursuing, sources tell @TheAthleticNBA @Stadium.

Trading Jrue Holiday makes a lot of sense, especially when you consider the makeup of the roster and his future salary cap implications.
The truth is that the New Orleans Pelicans have a lot of roster holes to fill and trading Jrue Holiday is just about the only way they can do it.
They won’t have much money after extending Brandon Ingram and you can’t count on the NBA Draft to produce impact talent, even with four picks.
Some rumors have Holiday headed to the Nuggets, or the Heat, or the Clippers, though trading him to a team with salary cap space is the best way to maximize his value.
There are a lot of good trades out there for Holiday whether the Pelicans want to take back veteran talent, young players or draft assets.
However, there are a few trades in the rumor mill that the Pelicans should avoid at all costs.
These are trades that don’t give the Pelicans enough talent for Jrue Holiday or offer back players that don’t help the Pelicans.
If these two teams call, the New Orleans Pelicans should fly away.
