New Orleans Pelicans trade rumors: Jrue Holiday to the Heat or Clippers

Trade #7

Miami Heat

The Miami Heat were very close to a title this year and probably feel they just need to add one more player to get there.

A combination of Jimmy Butler and Jrue Holiday would have some appeal, though it’s unclear if Miami would be willing to trade away some of their depth to get it.

Would they be willing to give up Tyler Herro? If not, a deal might look something like this:

If Miami was willing to put Herro in place of Robinson, it is worth considering, but if not, this is a trade the New Orleans Pelicans should avoid.

Los Angeles Clippers

The Clippers want to shake things up and are one of the teams that would definitely love to add Holiday. But at what cost?

It’s hard to see the Pelicans being interested in any package that does not include Paul George, as most of the Clippers’ role players are on the wrong side of 30.

Would they want to swap stars? I can’t see it. If not, here is a trade that could work:

I can’t see this one working either. The Clippers traded away their draft picks for the next 100 years to get Paul George, so they don’t have the young players or draft assets the Pels would want.

Beverley and Zubac are intriguing, but they can do better.
