New Orleans Pelicans: Potential free agents to put with Zion Williamson and Steven Adams

The change of scenery guy

Dario Saric

I’ve written about Saric as a guy who could have a second life with the New Orleans Pelicans.

Saric’s career has been up and down since 2017-18, when he looked like one of the best young players in the league.

Saric’s numbers have gone down ever since but he still averaged 10.7 points, 6.2 rebounds on 35.7 percent from long range.

Saric has had better shooting numbers in his career, shooting as well as 39.3 percent on 5.1 attempts per game for the 76ers in 2017-18.

If Saric can get back to those shooting numbers, he would be a valuable weapon for the Pelicans, a guy who could come off the bench and get buckets in a variety of ways.

Saric would potentially be an upgrade over Nicolo Melli, another stretch-four who might need a change of scenery to thrive.

Saric would have to commit more on the defensive end if he wants to play for Stan Van Gundy, but he is an interesting talent who could potentially be a low-cost steal for the New Orleans Pelicans in free agency.

The next few days should be wild and the Pelicans could have a much different roster by this time next week.
