The New Orleans Pelicans’ schedule is brutal in the first half.

The New Orleans Pelicans‘ schedule for the first half of the season has been released and it is going to be tough for the Pels.

The Pels start the season with some difficult road games. In fact, of their first 16 games, 11 are on the road, mostly against talented Western Conference opponents.

It would be easy for the Pels to get off to a slow start, as there are a lot of factors working against them early on, issues this schedule will not make any easier.

The Pels start the season with four of five on the road against the Raptors, Heat, Suns and Thunder, three of which were in the playoffs last season, and one, the Suns that has gotten a lot better with the addition of Chris Paul.

The Pels then have four at home before going on a seven-game road trip that could be one of the toughest of the season with games against the Clippers, Lakers and two against the Jazz.

It could get ugly in the first half if the Pelicans don’t gel right away, which is why this prediction is going to be a bit grim.

New Orleans Pelicans first half schedule: Predictions for total wins.

After studying the first 37 games of the schedule, I have the Pelicans winning just 17 games. Things get easier after that early road trip, but even the home games will be tough.

The Pels have a stretch where they play eight of nine at home, but their opponents include the Spurs, Bucks, Rockets (twice), Kings, Grizzlies and Suns, all of which will be tough games.

The only team on the first-half schedule that the Pelicans play twice and should definitely beat is the Bulls, but other than that the Pels have multiple games against the Rockets, Suns, Grizzlies, Bucks and Spurs, all teams that will be trying to make the playoffs.

If the Pels can stay around .500 in the first half, they should be able to make a push in the second half after they’ve had more time to form some chemistry.
