The New Orleans Pelicans defeated the Milwaukee Bucks 127-113 in the final  preseason game.

The New Orleans Pelicans had just one last preseason game to get locked in, but if you watched Zion Williamson and Lonzo Ball, you’d think it was already midseason.

The Pelicans rode the duo to a 127-114 win over the Milwaukee Bucks in a game that was back and forth and lacked any real rhythm.

The Pels got up big early only to cough up the lead (sounds familiar) but then rallied in the second half and ran away with it behind a nice bench effort, particularly from J.J. Redick.

Giannis Antetokounmpo didn’t play but the Bucks were still looking for a win after dropping the first two of the preseason.

It is still just preseason, but these games had more intensity than normal due to the shortened training camp and lack of actual games.

Take these reactions for what they are, overreactions. Here are five overreactions to the Pels blowout win over the Bucks which will probably be the first step to a title! (Started already)

New Orleans Pelicans: Overreactions to win over Milwaukee Bucks

Overreaction #1: Lonzo Ball has a mid-range game!

Ok, so it’s far too early to know if this is true, but Lonzo Ball played one of the best games of his career last night.

It wasn’t his highest scoring ever and he didn’t have 20 assists, but he played a controlled, measured game and showed he is confident and comfortable running the offense in the half-court.

Several times Lonzo Ball ran the pick and roll with Zion Williamson and when Zion rolled to the lane, Lonzo pulled up for mid-range jumpers that he nailed.

That shot is going to be there all of the time for Lonzo, so if he can knock them down, the pick-and-roll with Zion will be almost unstoppable.

If teams have to contest Lonzo’s mid-range jumpers Zion is going to get a lot of lobs and dunks rolling to the hoop.

Lonzo was quietly in command of the game last night, took open shots when they were there, but didn’t force anything.

He looked exactly like the point guard the New Orleans Pelicans need him to be.
