Looking at where the New Orleans Pelicans rank in our updated NBA Power Rankings

The first week of the 2020-2021 season is in the books for the NBA, and while so much of our focus has been on the New Orleans Pelicans, there are a lot of surprises to talk about in the NBA. Did anyone expect the Orlando Magic to start 4-1? How about the 0-5 start for the Washington Wizards? Sure, it’s a small sample size but that’s what NBA Power Rankings are all about. A snapshot of where teams rank at the moment.

Of course, if you’re reading this, you’re probably dying to know where the New Orleans Pelicans land in the NBA’s 30 teams. Don’t worry, we’re going to dive into that right now! Let’s get started.

30. Washington Wizards ( 0-5)

I’m sorry, but the Washington Wizards have been putrid to start the season. This team hoped that the Russell Westbrook-Bradley Beal duo would excel them to the playoff, but they can’t even win a game right now.

It seems like the Wizards are getting the Russell Westbrook in decline, his athleticism is slipping, and with no semblance of an outside shot in his game, he’s pretty inefficient. They’re also allowing their opponents to score 120 points a game on their defense. If they want to improve they’ll need to do it quickly.
