The New Orleans Pelicans could deal from their guard depth to improve their struggling bench.

The New Orleans Pelicans are 4-2 behind strong play from Brandon Ingram, Steven Adams and the rest of the starters.

But the bench has been flat-out awful.

Josh Hart is the only one who has contributed anything at all at this point. Jaxson Hayes looked better against Toronto but is still inconsistent, J.J. Redick continues to struggle, Nickeil Alexander-Walker is up-and-down and Nicolo Melli has rightfully been planted on the bench.

The Pelicans’ backup bigs have been so bad that Stan Van Gundy has resorted to putting Josh Hart and NAW on power forwards, which is not sustainable.

The Pels need some depth on their bench and could find it in a three-team trade with the Nets and Cavs that gets every team something that they need.

Let’s take a look at why each team would consider this move.
