Match-up #3: #4 Texas vs #14 West Virginia, 1/9 @ 12:30 PM CST

Potential New Orleans Pelicans Prospects: Greg Brown, Miles McBride

The final match-up I think New Orleans Pelicans fans should keep their eyes on is 4th ranked texas against 14th ranked West Virginia state. Both of these programs are built more on good collegiate athletes rather than blue-chip prospects, but two players have caught my eye.

The first is athletic big man Greg Brown from Texas. He’s still very raw, but I believe that Greg Brown has the athletic tools to be a great frontcourt player in the NBA. He’s rangy, with good shot-blocking instincts, and his offensive game is coming together too.

Brown shows a willingness to shoot the 3 pointer, and he’s figuring out how to be a smart offensive player at the NCAA level. Wouldn’t mind seeing this freshman big man in the Pelicans rotation as an intriguing project selection.

Then there’s Miles McBride of West Virginia. After spending his freshman season on the bench for West Virginia, the sophomore guard is becoming one of the NCAA’s most dynamic scorers. His 3 point shot is nice, and he plays well in the pick-and-roll.

McBride is undersized and doesn’t facilitate much, but as a second-round bench scoring option, I think McBride could intrigue the New Orleans Pelicans in Stan Van Gundy’s offense.

So, if you’re bored this week, I think I just solved your issues. Three good college basketball games with some prospects that the New Orleans Pelicans could be interested in. What’s better than that?
