The New Orleans Pelicans are desperate for a win against the Los Angeles Lakers.

The New Orleans Pelicans have lost four-in-a-row and would love nothing more than to break that streak against the Los Angeles Lakers.

This isn’t going to be easy, as the Lakers are not only the best team in the NBA, but the Pelicans will be without Lonzo Ball and probably Eric Bledsoe.

Zion Williamson should return, which is good news and Nicolo Melli is listed as “day to day” which is good news if it keeps him out of the lineup (more on that in a second).

The Pelicans are at risk of dropping to 4-7, not the start they wanted, especially with five games still remaining on the current road trip and little relief in sight.

A win against the Lakers tonight would help, as the Pels do not want to fall too far back in the first half of the season.

Here are three things we’d like to see, other than A WIN.

New Orleans Pelicans: Kira Lewis Jr. and Nickeil Alexander-Walker could be the future

More Kira Lewis Jr. and NAW together

Nickeil Alexander-Walker and Kira Lewis Jr. both had breakout games against the Clippers, the only bright spots in the loss.

NAW was unstoppable, scoring 37 points and looking more confident than we’ve ever seen him. Lewis Jr. got his first extended run and made the most of it, flashing some nice action in the pick-and-roll as well as elite quickness.

Stan Van Gundy staggered their minutes against the Clippers, allowing both to play point guard at different times in the game.

But it would be nice to see them play together. These two could be the backcourt of the future and it’s not too early to see if they fit together and can start building some chemistry.

With both Lonzo and Bledsoe likely to miss tonight’s game, Lewis Jr. and NAW should continue to get minutes and it’d be great if some of them were together.
