The New Orleans Pelicans continued their slide against the Los Angeles Lakers.

The New Orleans Pelicans are going through their worst stretch of the young season. Not only are they losing games, but there is no end in sight.

They are in the middle of a seven-game road trip, have Lonzo Ball out with injury, Eric Bledsoe struggling to see and a bench that is full of guys who shouldn’t be in the NBA.

Stan Van Gundy has done his best to try and keep it together, but like the team, he has fallen into some bad habits that need immediate correction.

There is still a long way to go, but the New Orleans Pelicans need to get things turned around sooner rather than later if they want to have a chance at the playoffs.

Here are the grades for another inconsistent performance by the New Orleans Pelicans.

New Orleans Pelicans: Point guard grades in 112-95 loss to the Lakers

Point Guards

KIRA LEWIS JR.. Incomplete. . Point Guard. New Orleans Pelicans

One of the most disappointing parts of the loss to the Lakers was that we didn’t see much from Kira Lewis Jr. The rookie only played 11 minutes after having a really solid game against the Clippers.

This would make sense if the Pelicans had any depth at all, but they don’t, so I don’t really get why Lewis Jr. was glued to the bench while Nicolo Melli played 21 minutes.

I would honestly rather see the 160 lb. rookie out there trying to guard power forwards and centers than see another minute from Melli.

The Pelicans needed offense in the second half and could have tried something different, considering they barely scored.

Lewis Jr. was only 2-of-8 with all of his shots coming after the game was essentially over.
