New Orleans Pelicans: Zion Williamson vs. Luka Doncic

Zion Williamson and Luka Doncic will always be connected because of their relative ages and burgeoning superstardom.

Neither of their respective teams have started the way they would have liked but both have played like All-NBA talents and will be featured in the All-Star game.

Luka has gotten the better of Zion in their previous matchups, as Dallas’ size on the interior has given Zion a lot of problems.

Dallas has used Kristaps Porzingis and Maxi Kleber to effectively stop Zion from doing damage in the paint, at least in the past.

This season, Stan Van Gundy has Zion handling the ball a lot more on the perimeter, initiating the offense and setting up his teammates.

He has been particularly effective at passing out of double teams of late, so Dallas may have to change their approach to stopping Zion.

Who knows, we may even see the two matched up against one another, as Zion has spent a lot more time on the perimeter over the last several games.

Even though Zion and Luka play different positions, their head-to-head matchups are always going to be special. Both would like to establish themselves as the next face of the NBA and they’ll get a chance to do so tonight.
