New Orleans Pelicans: Trading Eric Bledsoe for Kemba Walker

The next proposed trade is a little closer in my mind but still one the New Orleans Pelicans would probably stay away from.

Making Eric Bledsoe part of the trade instead of Lonzo makes more sense but it’s all the extras that make it a stay away for the Pels.

On paper this one is not that bad, as the Pels do need depth and size and this trade would get them some.

But when you add a first-round pick, and factor in Kemba’s remaining salary, it makes less sense for the Pelicans, who don’t want to be tied to a big money contract for a guy in decline.

Also, Kemba Walker is a ball-dominant point guard who would be joining a team with two guys in Zion and Ingram who are going to have the ball in their hands most of the time.

Lonzo Ball is also a playmaker who needs the ball in his hands at times, so it’d be a tough fit.

This trade isn’t the worst thing I’ve ever seen and some Pels’ fans might jump at it, but that last year of Kemba might get ugly and I’m not sure he’s a good fit anyway.

I don’t think Kemba Walker will be coming to New Orleans, especially in a deal involving Lonzo Ball.
