The New Orleans Pelicans vs. Portland Trail Blazers should be a high-scoring game with plenty of opportunity for bettors.

The Pelicans have been making me money all season, even though they have been one of the most inconsistent teams in the NBA.

But there are some things about them that don’t seem to change, which is that they score a ton of points and don’t play defense, so you can at least count on most games to be high-scoring affairs.

The same should be true against the Portland Trail Blazers, who are in the same category as an explosive offensive team that doesn’t play much defense.

The Pelicans are +1 in this game, which means the sharps think they are going to win given that they are on the road. The Pels have handled the Blazers the last few seasons, sweeping them last year, so forget the points and just bet the Pels to win if you like this bet.

Here are three additional value bets for the game.

New Orleans Pelicans vs. Trail Blazers: The combined score will be over 222

If you’ve been reading my gambling articles, then you know that I bet the over in just about every game and the Pels rarely disappoint.

Given that the Trail Blazers are the 29th ranked defense in the league and the Pels are the 28th, I am actually shocked that the total is this low.

This seems like easy money to me, as the Pelicans can’t stop anyone and neither can the Blazers.

Pelicans vs. Trail Blazers: Lonzo Ball will have at least 15 points

I finally went away from my Lonzo Ball bets after the books raised his point total to 16.5 but it is back down to 14.5 which means it is time to bet Lonzo again.

He has been up and down in the second half but scored 20 against the Clippers and looked confident doing it.

Lonzo has been very streaky this season so you have to ride the wave when he is on, which he appears to be.

New Orleans Pelicans vs. Portland Trail Blazers: Zion Williamson will have at least 9 rebounds

I love this bet for several reasons. The Blazers will be without Harry Giles III, Jusuf Nurkic and Zach Collins, so there should be plenty of rebounds available for the Pelicans and Zion Williamson.

Zion’s rebound totals have been underwhelming the last three games, which is why the books are giving +108 odds on this one. With Portland missing many of their bigs, Zion should feast, especially on the offensive glass.

This is a long shot value bet, as the makings are there and you are getting good odds, so it is worth the gamble.

The New Orleans Pelicans hope to win their third in a row and get back into the playoff picture but it won’t be easy against Damian Lillard and the Blazers.

Next. The Pels should pursue a blockbuster for Karl-Anthony Towns. dark
