New Orleans Pelicans: Lineups against the Spurs

Both the New Orleans Pelicans and San Antonio Spurs have been hit with the injury bug lately and the outcome of the game could be altered by injuries.

The Pelicans are already missing Josh Hart and Nickeil Alexander-Waker, so their bench will once again be short.

Steven Adams is listed as day-to-day after leaving the last game early with an injury, same with James Johnson, who could also be out against the Spurs.

San Antonio has DeMar DeRozan and Rudy Gay listed as day-to-day, but I don’t trust the Spurs on this one and would not be at all surprised if both of these guys play tonight.

If both are out, it’s a big advantage for the Pelicans, as the Pels don’t really have anyone other than Naji Marshall who can match up with these two defensively. If one or both of them is out, it will allow Lonzo to focus his defensive efforts on the guards and not have to defend up.

It’s going to take a team effort defensively and the Pels have not been up to the task of late, letting up over 117 points per game over their last ten.

They are going to need to score a lot of points. We know Zion Williamson and Brandon Ingram will step up, but who else?
