New Orleans Pelicans: Who is the third scorer?

The Pelicans’ offense has been very good this season, mostly because Zion Williamson and Brandon Ingram have been scoring nearly 60 points per night between them

With half of their points covered by two guys, the Pelicans don’t need huge contributions from the other guys, but they need someone to be that 15-20 point scorer they’ve often lacked.

At times that guy has been Lonzo Ball, who was enjoying one of the best stretches of his career as a shooter before going down with injury.

Eric Bledsoe has had his moments but they’ve been few and far between these days, as he can occasionally get hot and score 20 in a half but then disappear for three games. He hasn’t done it consistently.

Naji Marshall has been the Pelicans’ best bench player of late and has probably done enough to earn himself a full-time contract next season.

Marshall has shown himself to be a playmaker and he can score off slashes or in the open court, but he’s not a guy the Pelicans are going to run plays for in the half court.

Stan Van Gundy has been tinkering with two-big lineups featuring Jaxson Hayes and Willy Hernangomez with mixed success, Kira Lewis Jr. hasn’t been a consistent scoring threat and with so many injuries, the Pels don’t have many other options.

Everyone got in on the action against the awful Magic and the Pelicans will need a similar team effort on both ends to get a win against the Spurs.
