New Orleans Pelicans: Larry Nance, Josh Hart and the buyout market

Larry Nance Jr. came to the Pelicans as part of the McCollum trade and last night the Pels really could have used him.

Nance just underwent surgery on his knee is is reportedly out for at least six weeks, so it is possible he will not return this season which leaves a big Josh Hart sized hole in the defense.

The Pelicans still have an open roster spot and may try to plug it with someone from the buyout market if a bigger defensive-type wing becomes available.

Those types of guys don’t grow on trees though, so I don’t think the Pels can count on being saved that way.

Hopefully Nance will return with enough time left in the season for it to make a difference, but until then, the Pels have some depth issues on the wing unless someone else can step up.
