Brandon Ingram has only played three seasons for the New Orleans Pelicans but he is already one of the best players in franchise history.

That’s mostly due to the fact that the Pelicans/Hornets don’t have a long history as a team, so Anthony Davis, Chris Paul, David West and Jrue Holiday pretty much sit atop every category in the all-time franchise rankings.

Some of Ingram’s numbers may surprise you, but he has put up great all-around stats since joining the Pelicans and is quickly rising up their all-time list of players.

If Brandon Ingram can stay healthy next season he has a chance to climb even higher in several categories for the all-time franchise leaders.

New Orleans Pelicans: Brandon Ingram climbing the rankings

It’s hard to believe that player who is only entering his 4th season in the league is in a position to crack a franchise’s all-time lists, but that is where we are with Brandon Ingram after three great all-around seasons for the Pelicans.

Here are some of Ingram’s rankings now and where he could be by the end of next season if he can stay healthy:

  • Games played: If Ingram plays upwards of 60 games next season he will crack the top-10 in total games played by a Pelican.
  • Field goals: If Ingram has a similar season next year he will climb to 5th in field goals, but creep much closer to overtaking Chis Paul in 4th.
  • 3-point shots: Ingram made 74 shots from long range last season and if he does that again he will move into 4th in 3-point makes overall. He currently sits at 7th, which is pretty incredible considering his short tenure with the team.
  • Free throws: Ingram hit 266 free throws last season and a similar number would move him to 4th all time in free throws made for the Pelicans.
  • Assists: Ingram currently sits 8th in New Orleans’ history in assists, but if he puts up 300+ as he did last season, he will move all the way to 4th on the Pels’ all-time list. This one is probably the most surprising to a lot of people, as Ingram is not even a guard, but he is an underrated playmaker who has consistently put up numbers for the Pelicans.

It’s weird to think of a guy this young as an all-time franchise leader, but Brandon Ingram is already climbing the ranks and could end up at the top of several categories before his career with the Pelicans is over.
