The New Orleans Pelicans have taken full advantage of their 2024 offseason. They began the summer by trading for All-Star guard Dejounte Murray from the Atlanta Hawks. Zion Williamson has spent his time off slimming down, getting ripped, and vacationing in China with his Jordan brand fraternity. In the last couple of weeks, the franchise has been really getting busy in the final days before training camp.

Recently, the Pelicans added three players ahead of training camp, then cut one to make way for a new signee, ultimately ending up with Izaiah Brockington, Keion Brooks, and Jalen Crutcher. According to Spotrac, all three players were given Exhibit-10 deals, so they probably won't be around for the long haul, but all of them now have an opportunity to get more NBA eyes on them throughout training camp. They could use these deals as a springboard to an NBA future, with the Pelicans or another team.

New Orleans didn't just add players this offseason, either. They've made plenty of additions to their office as well. First, they added former NBA sniper Jodie Meeks as an assistant coach, likely to help train their shooters after they lost their shooting coach to the Detroit Pistons. Then, they got newly retired big man Greg Monroe to join their developmental staff in hopes that he can bolster their patchwork center rotation. This past week, the Pelicans announced a flurry of moves, including the promotion of WNBA legend Swin Cash to Senior Vice President of Basketball Operations, to finalize their bench and front office ahead of the 2024-25 season tip-off.

New Orleans Pelicans promote Swin Cash and make other moves to round out their staff

Swin Cash is heading into her sixth season with New Orleans and has been rewarded for her work with a promotion to Senior Vice President of Basketball Operations. Her responsibilities will mainly involve scouting and player development. Before joining the Pelicans, Cash played 15 years for five different teams in the WNBA, making four All-Star teams and receiving several MVP votes along the way. Her experience will be invaluable for scouting new talent and developing the Pelicans in-house.

Along with Cash's promotion, New Orleans also announced the addition of Rohan Ramadas as a full-time member of their analytics department. Ramadas has done several stints as a consultant for the Pellies over the last seven years but will now be a featured member as the new Senior Director of Analytics and Innovation. Ramadas brings an impressive resume as a former employee for aerospace organizations such as NASA and the U.S. Space Force.

On the coach's bench, the Pelicans also announced the addition of Dan Geriot along with Meeks and Monroe. Geriot is the most tenured new member of their sideline, as he was with the Cleveland Cavaliers for nine years prior to coming to New Orleans. His time with the Cavs included being the head coach of their G-League affiliate, the Canton Charge, assistant coaching for the Cavs, and leading as the Director of Player Development.
