The 2020 NBA Draft is the perfect opportunity for the New Orleans Pelicans to find a back-up point guard

The 2020 NBA Draft is fast approaching, and for the New Orleans Pelicans, it’s the perfect opportunity to fill some obvious holes on their roster. With three picks in the second round, a logical move would be for the Pelicans to take advantage of the guard depth in this year’s class to fill the void at the back-up point guard spot.

I know there are a lot of Pelicans fans out there who are very high on current back-up Frank Jackson after his strong play in the NBA bubble, but the NBA is all about value. The value of getting a talented point guard in the second round could be too high for the team’s front office to pass up.

I recently detailed most of this year’s class of guards in our 2020 NBA Draft Big Board (which you can view here) and there’s a lot of talent available that just needs development.

If the New Orleans Pelicans decide to take a guard in the second round, there’s a chance that they could become more than a back-up. With that being said, here are three ideal back-up points the New Orleans Pelicans can target in the second round of the 2020 NBA Draft.
