Be the GM: The New Orleans Pelicans draft Deni Avdija

Drafting Deni Avdija

Avdija is a 6-foot-9 wing with handles who can pass the ball and make plays. He profiles as a guy who could be a good 3-point shooter at some point.

There are some question marks about his shot, but Avdija could be an elite playmaker and is already a pretty good defender.

This would make the Pelicans a lot more dynamic on the wing, especially offensively, but doesn’t really improve their woeful defense. It would also leave them with a few holes.

Here is your rotation with Avdija:

PG: Lonzo Ball

SG: Josh Hart/ J.J. Redick

SF: Brandon Ingram/Deni Avdija

PF: Zion Williamson/Otto Porter Jr./Nicolo Melli

C: Jaxson Hayes/ Free Agent

This is the team you want if you are trying to replicate Denver, as two of your best playmakers would be big.

This team would still need a center and a backup point guard but would have four players to build around. The fit might not be there, so this is the choice of the outlier who wants to think outside the box.
