New Orleans Pelicans: Trading Jrue Holiday to the Milwaukee Bucks

Jrue Holiday to the Bucks? The fit is questionable

Our friends at Behind the Buck Pass recently threw out a hypothetical trade that would send Jrue Holiday to the Milwaukee Bucks for a package of players and a pick.

Here is the hypothetical trade package they proposed:

There are a few problems with this trade right away. Kenrich Williams is a restricted free agent who is unlikely to re-sign with the New Orleans Pelicans. The Pels might be interested in bringing him back on a minimum deal, but there is probably mutual interest and benefit for Williams to find a new team.

The second problem is that one of the assets is another draft pick in the 2020 NBA draft. The Pelicans already have four picks in this draft and adding the 24th pick doesn’t really move the needle. The Pels don’t need or want this pick and would certainly ask for something else unless they were going to package it in another trade.

There could be some interest for both teams if the deal were tweaked. Williams shouldn’t be a part of it, nor should the 24th pick, but let’s assume this deal were offered. Who says no?
