The Golden State Warriors could make a blockbuster with the New Orleans Pelicans but they might turn to someone else too

No. 1- Golden State Warriors

Just because they took a year-long hiatus, doesn’t mean that the Golden State Warriors aren’t a threat in the NBA. That became clear when the Warriors ended up with the 2nd overall pick in this years’ NBA draft.

After losing Kevin Durant in free agency, and dealing with injuries all year, the Warriors are in the perfect position to revive their dynasty by potentially flipping the 2nd pick in the draft for a proven NBA superstar.

There’s talk that Jrue Holiday could be that star for the Golden State Warriors. As a defensive-minded wing who can do a bit of everything, Holiday could fill the void that Andre Iguodala’s departure also created for the Warriors. In return, the New Orleans Pelicans could potentially add a generational talent with the 2nd overall pick.

But what if Bradley Beal is on the table instead? Or any other star? Then the New Orleans Pelicans lose out on that return and could again see a rival end up with a coveted top pick, while also having to compete with the reloaded Golden State Warriors all next season.

Are you a little nauseous yet? I wouldn’t blame you if you are. The NBA Draft for all the excitement it provides can also provide an anxious whirlwind of emotions for teams and fans alike. What will any of these teams do in the draft? Who knows, but just like the Pelicans will, I’d keep my eyes on them come draft night.
