The New Orleans Pelicans could try to resurrect the career of Kevin Porter Jr.

New Orleans Pelicans: Could the Pelicans sign or trade for Kevin Porter Jr.?

If you have a chance to get potential impact talent without giving anything up, you’d be crazy not to.

The New Orleans Pelicans could sign Porter Jr. to a minimum, non-fully guaranteed deal if the Cavs do release him.

If they decide to try and trade him, the Pels could ditch one of their thousand 2nd-Round picks to get him. Some fans might not like the idea of giving up a pick for Porter Jr. but 2nd-Round picks rarely make the NBA, so Porter Jr. is actually less of a risk than counting on a guy chosen late in the draft.

Porter Jr. could slot in behind both the two-guard and wing positions, giving the Pels some depth that they don’t currently have.

Porter Jr. was a weapon off Cleveland’s bench last season and could be one for the New Orleans Pelicans. Considering he would cost them nothing, Kevin Porter Jr. is worth that risk.
